When first devising my installation video, I was considering the idea of water being a vital life source that is difficult to acquire. I wanted to reflect on what would happen if the process was reversed and the water came to us instead. I felt that this idea was conveyed well through the visual concept of the video. I slow-framed the footage and reversed it to create the achieved effect.
I used a lot wide shots in order to fully capture the water returning to my hand, however the idea might have been even more clearly expressed if I had used an equal amount of close up shots. It might of been a good idea to get some close up shots of the water emerging from the ground, so its source would be more understandable to the viewer.
The idea behind the video might also have been more clearly expressed if i had included more content and the video been longer. I selected "Rebirth Reverse" by Abingdon Boys School as a backing track. I was happy with this choice of music as I felt it suited the mood and tone of the video as a whole. The technique I have used was that I slowed the video playback and used just only the reverse effect at 60 frame per second to add that slow motion view.
What I would included if i had more time would be that i would use the river side and drop water in the river and playback reverse to make the viewers more understandable about of what the video is about.
My opinion about the video is that I found it rather great because people in any sort of videos not normally use the slow motion reverse video and try to make the viewers understand what the video is about
